How to set up proxy on Internet Explorer
In this tutorial we will show you how to set up Proxy on Internet Explorer but first let’s see what are our requirements.
Requirements
In order to set up the Proxy on Windows you will need:
- A CactusVPN account. If you don’t have one you can try our services for free.
- Your Proxy username, password and Proxy server address. You can find them in your account on our website, by going to Settings.
Go step-by-step through following instructions:
- In the Internet Explorer browser, press the “Tools” button (1), and choose “Internet Options” (2).
- Now it depends on your OS, but usually it should be ok following this path:
Select “Connection” (3) tab and press “LAN Settings” button (4).
- In the “Local Area Network (LAN)” Settings window, check “Use a proxy server for your LAN” (5).
In the same window enter the IP address (6) of the proxy server and the port number (7) you want to use. You can find them in your account on our website, by going to Settings.
Click on “Advanced” (8).
- Check the “Use the same proxy server for all protocols” checkbox (9) then Click “OK” (10) and then “OK” again.
- When you want to visit first site an username and a password will be required. Type your VPN username and password. You can find them in your account on our website, by going to Settings. Make sure you use your VPN username and password and NOT the website account credentials (What is the difference?).
Your Proxy connection is ready. Now you can browse safely and anonymous.
